INDUSTRIAL VALVE TO PARTICIPATE IN WKRG TOY DRIVE FOR SECOND CONSECUTIVE YEAR


MOBILE, Alabama (September 27, 2013) – Industrial Valve has committed to participate in the 2013 ‘WKRG Great Toy Drive’ for the second consecutive year.


In December of 2012 the IVS Mobile location took part in ‘The WKRG Great Toy Drive’ is an event hosted by WKRG News 5 News an affiliate for CBS each year benefitting local charities such as the Salvation Army and The Child Advocacy Center who provide Christmas gifts to children across the Gulf Coast area.


Industrial Valve set an additional goal of $1,500 in employee donations. The goal was exceeding, totaling in $1,781.93. In addition, the members of the Benevolent Fund voted to give an additional $2,000, and owners Don Williams and Jim Harrell agreed to match donations given by employees. This brought the donation total to $7,563.86; the largest donation received.


The charity doesn’t accept checks so IVS employees set out in teams of volunteers to purchase toys for the most underfunded age group of 12-17 year olds. Volunteer shoppers purchased electronics ranging from MP3 Players and electronic gaming systems to skateboards and sporting equipment such as basketballs, fishing gear, and bicycles.


The 2013 Toy Drive participation intends to set the goal even higher for donations in 2012. Participation will also include dividing and bagging up the toys once purchased and an IVS truck will help deliver the toys to the Salvation Army for distribution. Industrial Valve looks forward to another successful year in participating in the event.
